The best known of all the Goddesses of love, fertility and lust, Aphrodite. She corresponds heavily to the Roman Goddess, Venus. Aphrodite rose from the sea-foam fully formed, and was the most beautiful of the gods of Greece and Rome. Though beautiful and graceful, Aphrodite is also capricious, prone to favouritism and unfaithful. She is also known as a Killer of Men, the Deceiver and the Bringer of Victory because of her dark side and her brutal retribution to those who displeased her. However, she was also a protector of love that had to be hidden, of all things beautiful, and of affection and joy. She loved flowers and sweet things, preferring offerings of sweet honey cakes and bouquets.
Her shade is a classic soft rose, representative of her patron flower, the rose, and for the classical representations of Aphrodite in historic art as a beautiful, young woman with the soft, innocent blush of youth that hides a vivacious and fierce Goddess.
This is a matte, loose blush in asoft, pale neutral pink shade. Moderately pigmented, but still sheer to allow natural beauty to shine through. This is a buildable pigment.
